The Bite Me Cancer Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Attitude is Everything Scholarship, a new program established to recognize and support exceptional students who are facing the challenges of cancer while pursuing their educational dreams.

 

The Attitude is Everything Scholarship was created for graduating high school seniors and current college students from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. who are currently battling cancer or have been impacted by cancer. The scholarship celebrates students who have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, courage, and a positive attitude while continuing their education.

 

“We are so proud to launch this scholarship program,” said Nikki Ferraro, Founder of the Bite Me Cancer Foundation. “I understand their challenges since I went through it myself after being diagnosed at 17 years old. The strength and determination shown by every applicant was truly inspiring. These students have faced extraordinary challenges, yet they continue to pursue their goals with hope, courage, and an unwavering commitment to their future.”

The Foundation is honored to recognize the following students as the inaugural 2026 Attitude is Everything Scholarship recipients:

  Graduate of Heritage High School, Leesburg, VA
  Attending: Georgetown University

• Reed Morgan
  Graduate of Chantilly High School, Chantilly, VA
  Attending: Shenandoah University

• Christian Rittner
  Graduate of Powhatan High School, Powhatan, VA
  Attending: The Ohio State University

 

The Attitude is Everything Scholarship reflects Bite Me Cancer Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting teens with cancer beyond their medical treatment. By investing in education, the Foundation hopes to help young people pursue their dreams and build bright futures despite the obstacles cancer may have placed in their path.

Since its founding in 2010, the Bite Me Cancer Foundation has supported thousands of teens with cancer through programs including its nationally recognized Teen Support Bag Program, which has provided over 15,000 support bags to teens receiving treatment at more than 210 hospitals in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The Foundation also provides meals at a local hospital for teens and their families, free/fun events at locations like Dave & Buster’s, and other programs designed specifically for teenagers affected by cancer.
